100 items ... could you do it?

I think I own 30 pairs of shoes but this woman in Portland, Oregon has streamlined her life down to only 100 items and only including three pairs of shoes! Wow.

If you could only keep 100 items? What would they be? I think this would be easy to do if children weren't involved. My son alone has more than 100 pieces to his Thomas the Train set!

  1. There was an article in the Bulletin last week about trying to go for a month with only 6 (maybe it was 12?) items in your closet. Again, much more doable if you don't have kids.

I had a friend that made a resolution to clean out his closet. On January 1 he put a sticker the tag of every article of clothing. As he wore items, he removed the sticker. At the end of one year, everything that still had a sticker was supposed to go to Goodwill. I like this idea, but I justify keeping clothing by saying "When I'm not pregnant," "when I stop nursing," "when I lose 10 pounds," and on and on and on.

    That statement sounds like me!
