On the fence: going no shampoo

Image via bestofbakingsoda

This week I'm going to talk about things I'm on the fence about. I would love to hear your comments and suggestions. If you don't feel comfortable leaving a comment, feel free to email me privately at shannon at workingmomgoesgreen dot com.

I'm on the fence about going "no poo" as in no shampoo. Yes, I'm using Bubble and Bee Organic Hair Care for shampoo along with vinegar as a conditioner and I love both but part of me wants to go even more natural and try just baking soda. Part of me wishes I only had to wash my hair a couple times a week instead of every day. But there is a part of me that enjoys the smell of a good shampoo.

Are you using baking soda as a shampoo?  Any tips/tricks?

P.S. I have no affiliation with any of the products/companies/organizations mentioned in this post

  1. Did it when my hair was shorter. As long as you really rinse allllll the baking soda out, it's all good! I think I did a tbsp in one cup of water.

  2. Yes, I switched to baking soda and apple cider vinegar a few months ago and I love it! So much cheaper and natural :) Here's what works for me... you might need to find your own perfect combination. I dissolve 2 tbsp of baking soda in a cup of water and use that as my shampoo and I use 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar in a cup of water for my 'rinse'. Final rinse is with cool water.

I wash my hair every second day and I am pretty impressed. I'll be blogging about it soon!
